Crushed Cayenne // 2008–2012
von / by Folke Köbberling + Martin Kaltwasser
Crushed Cayenne is a 1.2:1 scale mockup of two proprietary SUVs on a full frontal collision course. The public was invited to take seats inside the wooden wrecks wrenched into each other. The sculpture provides an ironic commentary on the seemingly indomitable and hedonistic allure of these cars. Club Transmediale, Berlin Haus der Architektur, Graz (AT) |

SUV // 2008
von / by Folke Köbberling + Martin Kaltwasser
This sculpture represents the fusion of a German World War Two Atlantic front bunker with a Porsche Cayenne model. Luxury SUV cars are ideologically charged. Some of these ideologies are connected to the drivers’ social status and their elitist self-segregation underlined by the objects – often of military origin – with which they surround themselves. Simultanhalle, Köln |
